Patricia | Turner Smith

Patricia Turner Smith has devoted a lifetime to capturing the energy, colour and spirit of the sea through art. Her work reflects a deep connection to Tasmania’s coastline, landscapes and ever-changing light. Patricia studied Fine Arts under Jack Carrington Smith, with further studies in portraiture and still life. Her artistic journey has taken her through Italy, the UK and New York, with exhibitions and recognition across Australia.

Her work has been exhibited through galleries including the Wendy Whiteley Gallery, and she has held numerous exhibitions throughout Australia. She was also awarded the Professional Painting Prize at the Royal Hobart Show, along with further awards from the Derwent Valley Art and Clarence Art Prizes.

Today, Patricia continues to work from her studio at Red Ochre, creating colourful and expressive paintings in oil and watercolour. Her collection celebrates Tasmania’s coastline, ocean landscapes and the beauty found in the places around us.

Sea, surf, colour and movement. Art inspired by Tasmania and created with a lifetime of passion.
